Pastor's Message
Dear Bethlehem Church Family,
September is a season of new beginnings. As summer gives way to fall, vacations give way to routines, and students return to school, many of us find ourselves stepping into a new season of life and faith.
At Bethlehem, our children will continue their journey of growing in faith through Sunday School and Catechism classes. We also invite all members and friends to reconnect with the life of our congregation at our Welcome Back Outdoor Worship Service and Picnic.
This season of new beginnings is also a good time to reflect on our patterns of worship and Bible study. The Holy Spirit works through God's Word and Sacraments to strengthen our faith and bring us the forgiveness won for us by Christ.
Consider these questions:
- Are you attending worship once a month or less?
- Are you currently involved in a Bible study?
- Do you spend time in God's Word each day?
It is difficult to truly get to know someone without spending time with them. The same is true in our relationship with God. Through His Word, He reveals who He is, what He has done for us through Jesus Christ, and the promises He has given His people.
As you begin this new season, consider making a small but meaningful commitment to grow in your walk with the Lord.
If you currently worship once per month, strive to attend twice. If you attend twice per month, consider increasing to three times. If you are already attending three times, make worship a weekly priority.
If you are not currently involved in a Bible study, choose one and commit to attending regularly. If you do not spend time in God's Word each day, begin with just ten minutes a day. Small steps, taken consistently, can have a profound impact on your spiritual life.
God desires to bless you through His means of grace. As you gather with His people, hear His Word, receive His gifts, and spend time with Him in Scripture, He strengthens your faith and draws you closer to Himself.
King Solomon had it right. As you trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him, He will direct your paths. Get to know Him through His word, who He is, what He has done for you through Jesus Christ. Trust in and acknowledge Him and He will lead you.
This September, make a fresh commitment to worship regularly and spend time in God's Word. As you do, the Lord will deepen your faith, strengthen your walk with Him, and fill you with the peace that comes from knowing Christ.
God Bless You,
Pastor Joe
