Pastor's Message
Dear Bethlehem Church Family,
Parables and Possessions
King David writes in Psalm 24:
"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein."
(Psalm 24:1)
Beginning October 3 and continuing for three weeks, we will embark on a new sermon series titled "Parables and Possessions." Together we will explore three of Jesus' parables: The Faithful Servant, The Talents, and The Sheep and the Goats.
Through these parables, Jesus teaches us what it means to be faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. We will learn to be faithful in the responsibilities God gives us, to use His gifts and resources wisely and fruitfully, and to let our faith be expressed through loving service to our neighbors.
Jesus spoke often about money and possessions, not because wealth itself was His primary concern, but because our use of earthly resources reveals much about our faith, our priorities, and our trust in God. Ultimately, stewardship is not about what belongs to us. It is about recognizing that everything belongs to God and faithfully managing His gifts for His purposes.
I encourage you to make a commitment to join us for all three weekends as we grow together in our understanding of Christian stewardship and faithful living. The series will be held on October 3, 10, and 17.
God's blessings,
Pastor Joe
