King David writes in Psalm 39:4, “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is.” This verse has been a guiding light for Pastor Joseph Glombicki, reminding him of the passing nature of life and the importance of living each day for the glory of God. Motivated by God’s love through Jesus Christ’s life,
death, and resurrection, Pastor Joe is dedicated to reaching out to his neighbors with the Gospel, helping them believe and have eternal life, and making disciples of Christ through word and sacrament ministry.
Pastor Joe was baptized on December 13, 1959, at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Cary, Illinois. One song he was introduced to, deeply moved him and continues to resonate with him is “Here I Am, Lord,” based on Isaiah 6:8 and 1 Samuel 3. This song has been a significant part of his spiritual journey, reinforcing his calling to serve.
Pastor Joe graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in business May, 1981. He met his wife while working at Zayer in Crystal Lake, Il. They were married on August 6, 1983, and have been blessed by God with two sons Jason and Justin, and one granddaughter, Lena.
Throughout his secular career, Pastor Joe worked in various business positions, including production and logistics management reaching the title of Assistant General Manager, Nippon Express USA. Despite his professional accomplishments, he felt a persistent calling to ministry. Pastor Joe received his Certificate in Lay Ministry from Concordia University Wisconsin and was called by Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee on December 7, 2008. Later Pastor Joe attended Concordia Seminary St. Louis and was ordained and installed at Immanuel on August 29, 2020.
