Pastor's Message
Dear Beloved in Christ,
Grace and peace to you from God our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The writer of 1 Chronicles declares in chapter 16, verses 8–9:
“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works!”
November is a month marked by gratitude and thanksgiving. As you gather around the Thanksgiving table, what will your family and friends say they are thankful for? Perhaps food, clothing, a warm home, a loving spouse, good government, faithful friends, and family. These are all blessings worthy of our thanks.
Yet as important as it is to reflect on what we are thankful for, it is even more vital to consider to whom our thanks is directed. In today’s world, gratitude is often expressed toward people, the universe, oneself, or even vaguely — without a clear recipient. But Scripture reminds us that thankfulness is due to God.
God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Giver of all good things. As His creation, our response should be one of humble and joyful dependence. So, this Thanksgiving season, give thanks not only for the gifts that sustain your life, but especially for the Giver:
- To the Father, who created you,
- To the Son, who redeemed you,
- And to the Holy Spirit, who called you by the Gospel and keeps you in the faith until Christ returns.
May God richly bless you and your loved ones this Thanksgiving season.
Soli Deo Gloria.
God’s Blessings,
Pastor Joe Glombicki
