This September, Bethlehem Lutheran will join with thousands of churches nationwide for Back to Church Sunday. Bethlehem will be inviting everyone in the Dundee Township area to come for this special service that will end with a free community picnic. All are welcome, so come as you are and bring a friend! The service will feature music from The Messengers and a sermon from Pastor Joe Glombicki, followed by a picnic lunch. Burgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided by the church. Bethlehem members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and a side or dessert to share. Lawn games and activities for children will also be available.
This year’s Back to Church Sunday campaign is designed around a “Life is Better Together” theme, encouraging current church attenders to invite friends and neighbors to overcome loneliness and find connection, support, and hope available at a local church, in addition to discovering the deeper spiritual benefits that faith can provide.
The National Back to Church Sunday (BTCS) movement marks its sixteenth year in 2025 and it continues to gain momentum. More than 5 million Christ followers have participated through 33,000 churches since 2009. It is a day focused on uniting the church to equip and empower their members to be inviters. Eight out of ten people say they are open to visiting church if invited—they are just waiting for an invitation.
In case of adverse weather, the event will be moved across the street to Bethlehem Lutheran Church’s main building at 401 Main Street.
Bring a chair and join us for worship at Grafelman Park this Sunday, September 21 at 10:30 AM, followed by a picnic lunch.
No services will be held at 5 PM or 8 AM at Bethlehem.
