S. O. S. SISTERHOOD OF STITCHERS SERVING OUR SAVIOR

Spring has officially arrived! However, the up and down temperatures continue so our articles of warmth and comfort have not yet been put away into storage.

In surveying our yarn cabinet, located in the Choir rehearsal room, I notice some very empty shelves. If anyone has yarn that they are not using, please consider sharing it with us. Donations can be delivered to our Church Office and Karen will see that they find their way to our “Knitting Nook.” Any amounts of various colors are needed in mostly the medium worsted weight acrylic yarn that is 100% washable. This is the kind of yarn that we use for our afghans, prayer shawls, hats, scarves and mittens. We can also use 100% cotton yarn for the washcloths that we make that are placed in our Sunday School children’s Operation Christmas Child boxes. Baby yarn is always needed for our baby blankets and little hats that we make for the special care nursery at St. Alexius Hospital.

Every donation of yarn is used in some way. If it cannot be used by our S.O.S. group, it is sold at our Annual Rummage Sale which generates funds for the various missions that we support.

If you are interested in joining us for knitting and crocheting projects, please contact Dorothy Pigors at pigors@foxvalley.net. No experience necessary.
